Heavy snowfall disrupts train traffic and daily life in southern Germany

Heavy snowfall hit southern Germany on Friday night and continued on Saturday, causing major disruptions at Munich Airport. About 40 centimetres had fallen during the night in the area, cancelling train services. Meanwhile, orange and yellow warnings were issued for the rest of the country due to sub-zero temperatures, ice and frost. It comes after heavy snowfall and winter storms caused chaos earlier in the week.
