Giant snail farming booms in the Ivory Coast

Giant snails can weigh up to 500 grams and grow to a length of ten centimeters: highly prized in the Ivory Coast, they have fallen victim to deforestation and pesticides, and are disappearing from the rain forest. In an effort to save the species, locals are breeding them in booming farms.
