The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation is actively implementing initiatives aimed at year-round water storage and irrigation to enhance environmental sustainability in various regions.

In the vicinity of Kyauk Chat Village in Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw, a temporary embankment dam is under construction along Hsin Thay Creek, near Kyauk Chat Bridge.

On November 25th, Union Minister U Min Naung inspected developments in the project area, which not only contributes to the year-round storing of water but also plays a crucial role in greening and beautifying the surroundings.

A 10-horsepower capacity solar-powered pumping station is being set up near the dam, which will facilitate irrigation for farmlands and support environmental greening activities upon completion.

The Union Minister and party also visited Doe Nwe Village in Deckhina Thiri Township to inspect the construction of a temporary dam on Pu Lway Creek.

Once completed, this dam will supply irrigated water to the catchment area of Chaung Ma Nge Dam and the lower part of Hsin Ohn Kan catchment area, further contributing to sustainable water management. Additionally, they inspected the progress of a temporary dam on Yone Pin Creek near Thazi Village in Lewe Township.

Currently, 60% of the construction has been completed, and the dam is poised to provide irrigated water to 550 acres of farmland. This development is expected to significantly boost crop yields and support environmental greening efforts in the region.
