






Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun attended the 6th Asia Pacific Energy Regulatory Forum in Shenzhen City of Guangdong Province in China on November 16.
In his address, the Union MInister expressed his belief that the forum would bring energy controls with modern digital technology, green energy transition in countries with established and regulated energy markets and developments in clean energy use.
In Myanmar, in 2023, the total renewable energy capacity is 7,329 MW. Financial and technical support and human resources are urgently needed in order to reach the state's goals, the Union Minister added. On the same day, the Union Minister met with Chairman of the National Energy Administration and discussed cross-border power line project, hydropower and renewable energy projects, thermal power plant projects and cooperation on the development of the electric power sector.
On November 17, the delegation visited the Huawei Digital Power Edison Exhibition Hall and Optical Storage and Charging & Vehicle-Grid Interaction EV charging stations. On November 18, the delegation visited the Fuyuanxi Wind Farm in Yunnan Province which consists of 135 wind turbines with an installed power of 5 MW to 6.7 MW each.
During the trip, the delegation also held meetings with the China Southern Power Grid, Datang United Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., State Power Investment Corporation, Yunnan Energy Investment Group & Yunnan Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Co., Ltd., and Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower Co., Ltd., for needs in the implementation of projects and plans to continue. The delegation arrived back in Myanmar on November 19.
