Indoctrination Ceremony : Plan to offer gold foils at Naung Taw Gyi Pagoda

An indoctrination ceremony took place on Monday at the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon to offer gold foils at the whole body of the Naung Taw Gyi Pagoda. This ceremony began with members of the Sangha reciting religious sermons and taking five precepts.

And, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin reported religious matters and issue to offer gold foils at the whole body of the Naung Taw Gyi Pagoda. The Union Minister also highlighted his ministry’s efforts for preservation of religious buildings in the precinct of the Shwedagon Pagoda.

There is a tradition of offering gold foils to the Lord Buddha images and pagodas once every 5 years. 10 committees have been formed to offer gold foils to the Naung Taw Gyi Pagoda, the Union Minister added. And, the Union Minister and party listened to religious sermons recited by the members of the Sangha, offered offertories, shared the merits gained and offered day meal to the members of the Sangha.

After the Ceremony, the Union Minister inspected the situation to offer gold foils to the Naung Taw Gyi Pagoda, heard reports and gave necessary instructions.
