Monastic Education System: MESC (Central) held a meeting

The Monastic Education Supervisory Committee (Central) held its meeting was held at Sasana Beikman at the precinct of Uppadasanti Pagoda in Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 8th November and attended by the Chairperson and members of the Monastic Education Supervisory Committee (Central) led by the Vice Chair of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee Baddanta Samvarabhivansa, members of MESC (Central) Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Deputy Ministers, permanent secretaries, directors General and officials.

First, the Chairperson and members of the Monastic Education Supervisory Committee (Central) led by the Vice Chair of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee Baddanta Samvarabhivansa delivered an opening remark including the history of MESC (Central) and its activities.

Next, the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin supplicated religious affairs regarding with the monastic education urging to discuss and give suggestion for the long term existence of monastic education schools by complying with the State policies, laws, by-laws and directives and conducting coordinated discussion.

Then, the Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe supplicated the work procedures regarding monastic schools in line with the basic education principle and the Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Moe Zaw Tun clarified the work procedures regarding monastic schools, findings on the Transfer Certificate (TC) of monastic education schools, implementations regarding with the decisions made at the 29th meeting of MESC (Central), findings on the opening Grade-5 and Grade-9, education law, supervising under the principle, long term work processes under National Education Conference 2023 and the tasks to be done by the Department of basic education.

Afterward, the member Sayadaws of the members of Monastic Education Supervisory Committee (Central) discussed the related sectors and the Chair of MESC (Central) supplemented necessary matters. Then, the decisions were made on the discussions of the members of MESC (Central) and MESC (regions and states).

Then, the Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers and officials offered the offertories to the Sayadawgyis and the meeting was concluded.
