Inaugural AI summit sees agreement on testing safety models: British PM Sunak

Western allies and companies working in AI have agreed to a safety framework for new cutting-edge models at a world-first summit on AI safety in Britain, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said a press conference closing the AI Safety Summit. Rishi Sunak, British Prime Minister said "Like-minded governments and AI companies have today reached a landmark agreement, we will work together on testing the safety of new AI models, before they are released."

Governments from G7 and EU countries, as well as Australia, Korea, Singapore, struck a deal with AI-leading companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and Microsoft, to test their latest models before and after release.
