





The Mokaung-Myitkyina rail round trip on the Myitkyina-Mandalay rail section resumed operations on Wednesday after being suspended for more than two years.
This rail journey plays a significant role in facilitating the domestic flow of commodities and promoting tourism in central Myanmar and Kachin State in northern Myanmar. Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials took the newly resumed rail trip, accompanied by local residents.
Along the way, commemorative gifts and food items were distributed to the local communities. The Mokaung-Myitkyina round trip route spans 36.75 miles and includes 7 stations with one stop along the way. The train departs at 7:00 am every morning from Moekaung station and arrives in Myitkyina at 9:30 am.
The return journey from Myitkyina is scheduled for 2:00 pm, with an arrival back in Moekaung at 4:00 pm. It has been reported that the rail service will be provided free of charge to passengers for a month.
