Elephant Dance Festival: Historic Kyaukse elephant dance festival opened

Kyaukse Township traditional elephant dance festival which has over 900 years long history since the time of King Anawrahta was opened in the morning on 28th October (eve of Thadingyut full moon day) with the attendance of Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and wife, Chief Justice of Region High Court, region ministers and their wives, Commander of local military station, Chairman of district Administration body and members officials, contestants of elephant dummies and local residents.
First, the Chief Minister and officials opened the competition by cutting ceremonial ribbon, the elephant dummies danced with the song of “Aung Say Paing Say” and the memorable gifts were presented to the Chief Minister and members. Then, the Chief Minister and party, officials and guests enjoyed the beautiful dance talents of the dummy elephants with the song of “Myanmanpyithar”.
