



The opening ceremony of "2023 Thadingyut Industrial and Aquatic Products Fair” began at People’s Square of Dagon Township in the morning on 27th October with the attendance by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Chairman of the Yangon City Development Committee Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay, Minister of Economic Affairs U Myo Myint Aung, Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and other concerned officials.
In his opening speech, the Chief Minister stressed that with the guidance of the Chairman of the State Administration Council, the economic objectives are laid down for national economic development.
He called for concerted efforts for the promotion of domestic products, import substitution and exports by providing necessary assistance such as capital, technology and human resources as well as market opportunity to MSME industrialists.
As a support to the guidelines, the consecutive commemorative fairs marking the Thadingyut, Tazaungdaing and Union Day had been held for the benefit of the public to consume products with reasonable prices and for the entrepreneurs enable to support the market penetration and expansion.
Then, the ethnic dance troupes and band troupes performed with traditional dances and music. And, the Chief Minister and party awarded honoraria to those who contributed in performing and viewed around the sales of products.
In the fair, products from Yangon industrial zones, UMFCCI and its affiliated associations, with the participation of a total of 500 selling booths from other regions and states will be available.
During the fair, visitors can enjoy E-Sport Game competitions, charity feast, and performances by famous artists from music, film and theatrical fields and comedian as well as DJs, dancers, special programs like magic shows.
Also, basic foodstuff will be on sale with fair prices and ferries have been provided for the smooth public transportation.
