








Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in Myanmar is actively working to enhance the travel experience for both local and foreign tourists visiting the country's popular destinations.
On October 24th, Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing paid a visit to Mandalay International Airport, where she inspected the Information Counter designed to provide information about tour destinations. Additionally, she visited the Information Counter located at the corner of 68th and 27th Streets and gave instructions.
On the 25th, the Union Minister extended a warm welcome to Russian tourist representatives participating in a Familiarization Trip at Mandalay International Airport. Known as the "Welcome Russia Program in Myanmar," the program is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the Myanmar-Russian Association for Friendship.
It aims to attract more Russian tourists to Myanmar's captivating destinations and promote the country's tour attractions within the Russian tourism market. A total of 43 representatives from tour agencies and media personnel, including officials from the Russian Economic Development Ministry, were part of this program.
They will explore renowned destinations in Myanmar, including Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan, Inle, Kawtthaung, Ngapali, and Ngwe Hsaung, providing them with the opportunity to experience regional attractions and taste traditional cuisine. Subsequently, the Union Minister, together with the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, held a meeting with departmental personnel and officials from hotels and tourism organizations.
During this meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation among regional and state governments and relevant organizations to ensure the sustainable development of the tourism industry. The ceremony also included the presentation of awards to the Mandalay City Development Committee and the Board of Trustees of Maha Muni Pagoda, recognizing their achievement in winning the ASEAN Public Toilet Award for 2023-2024.
