Cyclone Tej approaches

Tropical cyclone Tej approached in Yemen. It may bringing significant rainfall and a flooding threat was raised across the eastern half of the country. The Early Warning Center in Yemen's Hadhramaut Governorate said that “Tej” has currently developed from the third to fourth category.

According to the center, the tropical cyclone is moving in a direct direction towards Al-Mahra Governorate. It is expected that the eye of the tropical cyclone will pass through the area between the cities of Huswain and Qishn, starting from Monday evening until Tuesday, accompanied by heavy rainfall and rough sea waves ranging between 6 to 8 meters.

The center expected that the intensity of the tropical cyclone would decrease on Tuesday, after passing over land, turning into an area of low air pressure moving in a northwest direction towards the eastern regions of Hadhramaut Governorate and the coastal strip, which would be included in the indirect effects from Tuesday to Wednesday evening.
