Honoring victorious athletes: Taninthayi Region CM honored the victorious athletes

A ceremony to honor the track and field team which triumphed the trophy of the State and Region Women’s track and field competition and championship trophy was held at the Taninthayi Region Government Office in Dawei Township on Monday.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that the outstanding track and field athletes have emerged in Tanintharyi Region and gained achievements in 2022 State and Region track and field tournament.  He expressed his appreciation for the athletes who achieved success in U-18 and U-25 track and field tournaments and urged all to strive with relentless perseverance and sportsmanship spirit towards a very specific goal.

Then, the Director of Regional Department of Sports and Physical Education clarified the preparations and efforts for the achievement of victory.

And, the regional government presented 18 million kyats of honor to gold medal winners, 2.1 million kyats to the silver medal winners and 450,000 kyats to the bronze medal winners and 9 athletes who stood at 4th, 5th and 6th points, 1.1 million kyats to 5 record breakers of the State and Region track and field tournament. On behalf of the winners, the administrator of track and field team expressed words of thanks.
