41st ASEANAPOL Conference: Myanmar delegation participates the conference in Laos

The Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung attended the 41st ASEANAPOL Conference in Vientiane, Laos, from the 17th to the 19th of October.
Preceding the conference, on the 16th, the 12th ASEANAPOL Executive Committee Meeting took place. The 17th marked the official opening ceremony of the 41st ASEANAPOL Conference, which was followed by the first plenary session, a forum on ASEAN delegation leaders, a forum on ASEAN Dialogue Partner delegation leaders, and meetings of Commission A, B, and C, focusing on respective crime cases.
The meetings of Commission A, B, and C on respective crime cases continued on the 18th, along with the second plenary session. The conference came to a close on the 19th with the closing ceremony.
During the Commission meetings on the 17th, discussions centered on various critical issues, including narcotic drugs, terrorism, weapon smuggling, human trafficking, illegal trading of wild animals, maritime crimes, economic cases, banking scams, cybercrimes, fake travel documents, transnational crimes, the ASEANAPOL Database System, reciprocal assistance for criminal cases, capacity-building programs, and the forensic network of ASEANAPOL.
On the 19th, leaders of the 10 ASEANAPOL delegations, along with the Executive Director of ASEANAPOL, paid a courtesy visit to Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone. In the evening, the second Plenary Session and the closing ceremony of the 41st ASEANAPOL Conference were held.
During the ceremony, the ASEANAPOL Emblem was handed over to Myanmar, which will host the 42nd ASEANAPOL Conference in 2024. Myanmar delegation leader Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung expressed words of honor, followed by a screening of a video clip showcasing Myanmar's landscape. The Myanmar delegation departed from Vientiane on the 20th and arrived back in Yangon on the same day.
