



Colombian prosecutors seized a property that belonged to Pablo Escobar which houses a museum paying tribute to late drug lord who was killed by police. The house was acquired by the former Medellin cartel chief with "illicit money obtained in the 1980s and 90s," according to prosecutors.
The museum was being run by Escobar's brother. The investigation was led by the criminal finance section of the prosecutor’s office, which valued the property at around 12 billion pesos. Pablo Escobar who waged a war of terror against the Colombian state to avoid extradition to the United States, was killed in a 1993 police operation in his stronghold of Medellín.
He is credited with the assassination of at least 5,000 people, including civilians, judges, journalists, politicians and election candidates. He is also believed to be responsible for hundreds of bombings in Medellín, Bogota, Cali and Pereira.
