Disaster Risk Reduction: Magway Region CM address commemorative ceremony

A commemorative ceremony of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was held at the town hall in Magway on Wednesday. It was attended by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and many other officials.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister stresses the reasons and impact of natural disaster. Myanmar is implementing the disaster reduction process according to the San Diego Framework (2015-2030) in cooperation with the ASEAN member countries.

The Chief Minister also highlighted this year’s theme “Fighting Inequality for A Resilient Future” and necessary preparation measures and urged all to accelerate the natural disaster prevention activities.

This ceremony also included screening a video message sends by UN Secretary General, rehabilitation tasks after the cyclone MOCHA and inequality to equality stage performance.
