Local Edible Oil Market : Ensuring sufficient supply for local consumption

According to the edible oil merchants in Mandalay, the consumers can purchase edible oil such as groundnut oil, sesame oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, mustard oil and soybean oil in the market easily since there are sufficient local edible oil production.

This year, the oil crop cultivation areas are extended because of the good weather conditions, and also there is an increased yields of monsoon groundnut and sesame. Therefore, the local oil mills obtain enough raw materials to produce edible oil for local oil sufficiency.

Currently, the price of the groundnut oil in the Mandalay edible oil market is set at 15,000 kyats per viss, 14,500 kyats for sesame oil, 14,000 kyats for sunflower oil and canola oil, 7000 kyats for soybean oil and 10,000 kyat for mustard oil respectively.
