Wildfires close to houses in central Argentina

Wildfires in Argentina's Villa Carlos Paz have caused widespread destruction and prompted evacuations on Tuesday.  The fires have been exacerbated by challenging weather conditions, with temperatures soaring to around 35 degrees Celsius and strong north winds gusting up to 70 kilometers per hour.

A local man admitted to starting the fires by lighting a fire to heat water in a kettle and make coffee, but he lost control of the flames. The situation remains challenging, with continued firefighting operations, evacuations and apprehensions. Although some fires have been controlled, others continue to present substantial threats.
