Illegal trade: Consumer goods, industrial materials, vehicles confiscated

The Customs teams nabbed three kinds of goods including 72 remote-control toy from a container and 700 sets of gasoline engine from three containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint, 15,000 kilogrammes of cement ceiling board from a vehicle at the Myawady Trade Zone, a Sein Tun MPV and a Nissan Caravan headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying 640 sets of laser toner cartridge at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint and six kinds of goods including 210 kilogrammes of Fancy lady wallets from a container at the Myanmar Industrial Porton 6,8 and 9 October.

On 7 October, an on-duty team confiscated an Isuzu Giga truck and a Dongfeng tractor head with a trailer travelling from Myawady to Yangon, carrying two kinds of goods including 250 pairs of shoes and 6,875 kilogrammes of Super colour hair shampoo near Zero Mile on Yangon-Mandalay highway road.

The combined team captured a Toyota HiAce headed to Myawady from Zathapyin(ဇာသျပင္), carrying eight kinds of goods including 84 boxes of Choco Pie snack and 600 bottles of C-Vitt energy drink near Kyakalay (က်ားကေလး)village on Kyakalay-Zathapyin-Mawlamyine road on 8 October. As a result, a total of 16 arrests were made on four consecutive days from 6 to 9 October, with an estimated value of 325.644 Kyats as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
