Work coordination meeting: Meeting to stabilize power system & reduce power losses

A work coordination meeting to stabilize and improve the power system in Yangon Region, to reduce electric power loss and a clarification on the guidance of the Head of State was held at the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (Head Office) on Monday.

At the meeting, district electrical managers and engineers in Yangon Region reported on distribution of electricity, increasing annual electric power consumption, measures for reducing power wastage, collecting electric meter bills and future plans.

In response to the reports, Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun said that arrangements are being made to extend more generation of electricity to provide the electric demand in Yangon Region as well as more supply of electricity.

It needs to systematically collect the meter bills not to lose the state’s fund and to allocate systematically according to the schedule in distributing electricity. It was followed by the clarification of the guidance of the Head of State.

There, the Union Minister said that measures are being undertaken to hold a free and fair multi-party democratic general election and the collection of pilot census are being conducted starting 1st October. Depending on the collected experience, the 2024 nationwide census will be collected.

The government is prioritizing to the welfare of the civil servants who include in the country's production forces and also provides for their welfare. It also supervises to reduce the price of commodity goods.

In addition, subsidies for civil servants have been provided since October.

The Union Minister stressed the needs on systematic use of the Union budget, using the income and expenses in a balanced way, carrying out agriculture and livestock on manageable scale, maintenance of staff housing, training for the staff to be able to proficient in their work fields and technology, to follow the civil servant rules and fulfill the difficilties of the people as much as possible as the Ministry of Electric Power is providing services to the people.
