Traditional Chinlone competition: SAC members attended the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of 2023 Inter-Regions and States Traditional Chinlone competition was held at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium (A), Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 9th October. Members of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Htan, Dr. Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin, U Shwe Kyein, U Yan Kyaw, the Union ministers, deputy ministers, departmental officials, officials from the Myanmar Traditional Chinlone Federation, administrators, coaches and athletes from participating teams attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan urged the athletes to try hard in the competition to have friendly cooperation and uplift the Union spirit through the traditional chinlone sport among the men and women athletes from the regions and states, to promote the patriotic spirit, develop the Myanmar traditional Chinlone sport and to turn out the outstanding athletes who can preserve the traditional heritage.

Next, the athletes from the regions and states took the oaths of sports. 

Then, the SAC members and Union Ministers cordially greeted the athletes. Next, Ma Le Wati Zaw who won the gold medal at 32th SEA Games performed a solo demonstration of chinlone skills.

Then, the SAC members and Union Ministers and spectators watched the competition of Yangon Region and Ayeyawady Region.

With the aims at spreading Chinlone sport originated from Myanmar to the world, development of Myanmar traditional Chinlone sport, emergence of potential outstanding new generation Chinlone athletes and promoting it as Myanmar traditional cultural heritage and uplifting patriotic spirit. 

The 2023 Inter-Region/ State Traditional Chinlone Competition will last from 9th to 12th October at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium (A), a total of 186 athletes from 12 teams (men) and 6 teams (women) from regions and states and is open to the public free of charge.
