Tourism Committee Meeting: MOHT Union Minister discussed for tourism development

2/2023 meeting of Tourism Committee was held at the Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Vice Chair of the National Tourism Development Central Committee and Chair of Tourism Committee Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, Deputy Minister, committee members and officials.

In her opening remarks, the Union Minister said that the meeting was held to coordinate the matters on completion of work processes which were decided during the previous meeting and future plans to implement for the development of tourism industry of the country. She also said that collective efforts are needed to strive for increasing amount of domestic and international visitors in post COVID-19 period.

As for the Ministry, implementations are underway for development of tourism industry of the country by promoting Government-Private friendship and cooperation with local and international communities.

Locals and related officials from Regions/States are urged to participate in implementing clean and attractive destination places for the visitors. Then, the Deputy Minister reported on the work implementations on the guidance, given by the State Administration Council Chairman during the tour of 2023 World Tourism Day commemorative booths.

Then, the Director General of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism made progress report on the decisions from previous meeting and future plans of Government-Private Working Group.  After hearing the reports by the attendees, the Union Minister coordinated the requirements.
