Regional Meeting: 8th ASEAN-China Ministerial Meeting on SPS Cooperation

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung joined the 8th ASEAN-China Ministerial Meeting on SPS Cooperation virtually on Friday.

The Meeting Chair Malaysian Minister for Agriculture and Food Security and member of General Administration of Customs of China delivered opening speeches.

The meeting presented the outcomes of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and 26th ASEAN Plus Three Summit and sought approval for the report of 8th ASEAN-China Contact Persons Meeting on SPS Cooperation.

Union Minister U Min Naung discussed that like other ASEAN member states, Myanmar is making cooperative efforts with ASEAN-China cooperation projects and Myanmar-China bilateral cooperation works, highlighting the signing of two MOUs during the Import/ Export Food Safety Cooperation Conference, held in Nanning of China.

The meeting also approved the joint declaration of the 8th ASEAN-China Ministerial Meeting on SPS Cooperation.
