Capacity Building Training: Foundation Course for Public Opinion Mining Analysis

The Ministry of Information conducted a Foundation Course for Public Opinion Mining Analysis (Artificial Intelligence – AI) in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

The Union Minister emphasized that in today's media trend, AI technology could be helpful in combating fake and false information through data analysis and creating news stories to reach the public. He urged all the trainees to apply the knowledge gained from the training for the benefit of the department, state, and people.

An instructor from the Myanmar Computer Vision Developer Team explained the course, followed by the screening of a video clip on AI technology. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks by the Union Minister.

Seven trainees from the Media Development Department are attending the three-month online training course, which aims to build the capacity of officers and staff with the skills for monitoring fake and false news and conducting data analysis.

The training will cover data science, the Python programming language, text classification, and semantics during the training period.
