




Steering Committee for Establishing National Database held its work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Steering Committee attended the ceremony and made a speech.
He emphasized that the Steering Committee is tasked to draft policies for implementation of e-ID system, networking among the Union Ministries, providing G to G assistance for e-ID system, supervising for state security and providing human resources for technical skill.
He highlighted that e-ID system will be implemented through five phases, and the first phase of putting personal data of over 52 million citizens and 13 million household lists have been completed. Phase-2 of the project has been carrying out in the whole nation after conducting pilot project in November 2022.
He stressed that e-ID system and collected data are important national database, and it is important to ensure security. It needs to provide Network Monitoring System while reinforcing the Myanmar Computer Emergency Response Team.
He pointed out that once the National Database was completed, it could help provide social security of the people by laying down the work plans by e-ID system work committees.
The Union Ministers and attendees reported on work undertakings, draft of Myanmar e-Government Master Plan (2030), conducting training for human resource development, and future plans. The meeting ended with a closing remarks by the Vice Senior General.
