Fisheries Sector: Union Minister holds meeting on promotion of activities

Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation has been cooperating with relevant associations for the promotion of agricultural and livestock activities and the development of the private sector. Regarding the fisheries sector, on Thursday, Union Minister U Min Naung held a meeting with chairmen and members of the Myanmar Fisheries Federation and the Myanmar Fishery Products Processors & Exporters Association.

The meeting at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw discussed issues regarding the return of export earnings of aquatic products exported abroad. They also discussed to allow Chinese yuan payment in normal trade and air shipment like in border trade, points to discuss with the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China to increase export of aquaculture products to the People's Republic of China and the signing of a bilateral agreement to export farmed freshwater fish and prawn to the Middle East region as well as procedures, rules and regulations.
