Aid to Rakhine State: Foodstuffs for cyclone-affected people

5 containers carrying foodstuffs donated by Japan for the people in cyclone MOCHA hit areas of Rakhine State arrived at the Asia World port in Yangon on Thursday. There, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and many other officials attended the handover ceremony to the Yangon Region Government.

It’s the Chit Myittha Foundation responsible for transportation of the containers. [Soundbite] The donated foodstuffs include ready to eat rice boxes, canned fish, vegetable, juice and many kinds of energy drinks. [Soundbite] Under the guidance of the Natural Disaster Management Committee, the Yangon Region Government transported donated items from local and international communities to Sittwe of Rakhine State via air and sea route.
