Vehicle Registration: Western Yangon Department checks 100 vehicles daily

Starting from the 6th of September, the western Yangon Road Transportation and Administration Department under the Ministry of Transport and Communications resumed vehicle checking process for registration.

District Chief Officer , Road Transportation & Administration Dept. , Thiri Swe said " For vehicle registration, our department is now checking 100 vehicles a day regarding vehicle appearance changes, owner names and addresses. Besides, the department is running online booking system for the processes of driver license extension and tests."

Vehicle checking process for registration at the western Yangon Road Transportation and Administration Department were suspended starting from 22nd March 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistant Engineer , Aye Ko , Road Transportation & Administration Dept. said " We check the vehicles systematically comparing with the facts that are included in initial registration records. When checking the vehicle appearance changes, we check colour, engine and body."

It’s reported that for those who want to have their vehicles checked for registration can make an appointment with online booking system.
