Healthcare Sector: Meeting with Depts. of Medical Research & Public Health

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win met with medical staff from the Department of Medical Research and Department of Public Health in Pyin Oo Lwin on Tuesday. In the meeting, the Union Minster said that the development of healthy human resources plays a crucial role for the state.

The Ministry of Health has been carrying out the long-term plan for the better health sector of whole nation and it is essential to conduct research activities for modern medical treatment, more public healthcare activities and public health policies. He stressed that it is a main duty to develop the Research minded and research culture for the medical staff and genetic sequencing research was successful during the COVID-19 Pandemic and called for other genetically modified diseases research.

He urged the staff from the Department of Public Health to be ready to respond to new diseases in future and carry out the vaccination program for the children to prevent the occurrence of vaccine-preventable diseases. And, the Union Minister fulfilled the requirements submitted by medical staff from relevant departments.

After the meeting, the Union Minister and officials oversaw the completion of Research Training Center construction. Upon completion, the center will provide basic needs of research technology and methods including Implementation Research, Research methodology, Social Science Research, Bio Medical Research and Research Ethics.
