Global Commemorative Ceremony: World Tourism Day Celebrations in Riyadh

The World Tourism Day 2023 global commemorative ceremony took place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on Wednesday.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khaing attended the ceremony in Riyadh, accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador U Tin Yu. During the ceremony, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed Al Khateeb, and UNWTO Secretary-General Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili delivered speeches.

Following their speeches, Ms. Natalia Bayona, the Executive Director of UNWTO, elaborated on the global tourism investment frameworks of the UNWTO. Subsequently, panel sessions were held, with discussions focusing on the themes of "The Power of Tourism: Building Bridges," "Investing in Our People: Is Tourism Attracting the Right Talent?," "Investing in Our Destinations: The Potential of the Undiscovered," and "Investing in Our Planet: Towards a Sustainable Future."
