Wedding party fire kills over 100 in Iraq

At least 113 people died and 500 more were wounded in a fire incident at a wedding party in Iraq's Nineveh province on Tuesday night. The health minister of the Kurdistan Region announced that hospitals in the Kurdish capital city Erbil are open to treating those who were wounded in this tragic fire incident.

Reports suggested that fireworks were the cause of the fire. Civil defense officials quoted by the Iraqi News Agency described the wedding hall's exterior as being decorated with highly flammable cladding that is illegal in the country.
