






The No.2 Steel Mill factory(Pinpet) in Shan State which was closed for more than 4 years has been prepare to resume the operations and the preparing process of 361 out of 461 projects are completed.
Of the remaining 100 projects, 88 projects are being carried out by the Myanmar government and other remaining projects will be carried out in cooperation with Russian technicians, according to an Official of Ministry of Industry.
The Ministry of Industry has cooperated with the Ministry of Electric Power and Ministry of Energy to conduct the inspection of electrical and natural gas transmission sections for the Steel mill factory. About 19 out of 22 workshops have been operated as test run and the remaining 3 workshops will be re-operated after inspection by the Russia technicians.
Also, the constructions of Pinpet-Taunggyi, Taunggyi-Shwe Nayung- Myingyan railways section are underway for the transportation of steel mints and related factory products. The operating of steel mill factory will fulfill the local demand without importing the basic requirements of steel and creates the job opportunities for local people.
