Libya floods: Cleanup efforts continue as people get vaccinated in Derna

As cleanup work continues, people are vaccinated in the devastated city of Derna, eastern Libya, more than 10 days after deadly floods.

Tens of thousands of traumatized residents have been left homeless and are in urgent need of clean water, food and basic necessities as the threat of cholera, diarrhea, dehydration and malnutrition grows more worrisome. 

A tsunami-sized flash flood broke through two ageing river dams upstream from the city on the night of September 10 and razed entire neighborhoods, sweeping untold thousands into the Mediterranean Sea.
