e-ID System in Immigration Processes: MOIP Union Minister visits Beijing, China

For accelerating China-Myanmar bilateral cooperation in implementation of e-ID system in immigration processes, Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for the Ministry of Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing left for Beijing, People’s Republic of China on 17th September.

The delegation was seen off by the officials from China Embassy to Myanmar. On arrival at Bai Yun International Airport in Guangzhou city of  Guangdong Province, the Myanmar delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Director General of  Guangzhou Immigration and Public Security Department and clarified the implementation tasks of immigration and, exit and entry security processes of the region.

Then, both sides exchanged views on the immigration affairs of the two countries. Then, the Union Minister and party left for Beijing and they were welcomed by the officials from Myanmar Embassy in China and the Ministry of Public Security (China) at the airport. 

On the 18th of September, the Union Minister and party visited the National Immigration Administration (NIA) under the Ministry of Public Security (China) and met with the Deputy Minister of NIA. During their meeting, they exchanged views on the immigration policies, matters on exit/entry and security issues of border areas, cooperative efforts for laws enforcement, security measures for exit/entry of China-Myanmar border gates and future plans for more cooperation in immigration processes between the two countries.
