Literacy Campaign : Inspection tour by MOE Union Minister in Shan State

Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, along with concerned officials, visited Bant Pein (Chin Kone) Village in Hopone Township of PaO Self-Administered Zone on Sunday to inspect the basic literacy program being conducted at the village primary school.

As part of the program, basic education teachers provide learning opportunities to the locals. During their visit, the Union Minister stressed the need to make cooperative efforts to achieve literacy, which is the fundamental foundation for a nation's development. He expressed his appreciation for the teachers' contributions during their holidays and provided necessities.

They then arrived at Pan Thakhwar Basic Education High School in Kyauktalone of Taunggyi Township, where the literacy program is being conducted. They also inspected the construction of school buildings.

In a meeting with the teachers, the Union Minister provided instructions on academic and administrative matters. They then proceeded to Taunggyi Education Degree College and inspected the construction of a four-story hostel, kitchen, and mess hall. In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Research Center at Taunggyi University and provided instructions for conducting effective research work by utilizing the lab equipment systematically.

At No.1 Basic Education High School, the Union Minister met with state, branch, and district education officers, principals, and teachers, and discussed the need for cooperative measures in the literacy campaign. The Union Minister also conducted inspections at No.3, No.4, and No.5 Basic Education High Schools in Taunggyi and coordinated their needs.
