Awarding Ceremony: Outstanding Students in Yangon Region

An award ceremony to honor the outstanding students from Yangon Region who excelled in the 2023 Matriculation Exams was held at the Regional Government Office on September 15th.

Chief Minister U Soe Thein extended his congratulations, followed by an explanation of the prize presentation ceremony by the Deputy Director General of the Regional Education Office.

Then, prizes were presented to the townships and schools with the highest passing rates, as well as to those who achieved first, second, and third places in both science and arts subjects.

Additionally, students who passed with distinctions were also awarded. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the Mingala Sutta exams at both higher and middle school levels.

In the 2023 matriculation exams, more than 23,000 students sat for the exams at 83 examination centers in Yangon Region, with over 15,000 successfully passing, accounting for a pass rate of 64.20%.

Among them, 89 students achieved 6 distinctions, 218 students earned 5 distinctions, 417 students received 4 distinctions, 698 students attained 3 distinctions, 1,029 students secured 2 distinctions, and 318 students obtained one distinction.
