Modest royal 'throne' designed by Ikea for the Swedish King’s jubilee

A modest royal "throne" designed by Ikea for the Swedish King’s jubilee is displayed in Stockholm.

The 70s-style chair, which was part of the label's catalogue, will be relaunched next January. It is adorned with references to the monarch and the history of his 50-year reign.

"This is a special edition but it's done a little bit with extra thought in mind for the king and references that will mean something special for him" says Johan Ejdemo, IKEA designer. " this might be more comfortable than many of the chairs he is used to sit on as well, he added.
