Asian Games prep underway

Preparations for the 19th Asian Games, from high-tech traffic management to volunteer training, are in full swing ahead of the event's commencement in Hangzhou City in east China’s Zhejiang Province on September 23.

In anticipation of a spike in traffic, the city has set up dedicated lanes for the Games and adopted a digital platform, which integrates data from traffic police, road management, firefighting, and emergency departments, to improve traffic flow and safety.

Volunteers are also doing their part to prepare as they undergo training for venue cleanup, customer service and other key tasks that aim to ensure all athletes and spectators are left with positive memories.

The Hangzhou Asian Games will run through Oct. 8 and will feature 40 sports, 61 disciplines, and 483 events in 54 competition venues. The occasion marks China's third time hosting the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)'s signature event.
