Registration Process: Workshop on facilitating NGOs/INGOs registration

A workshop on facilitating NGOs/INGOs registration was held at Hotel Max in Nay Pyi Taw on 14th September with an address of Chairman of the Union Registration Board, member of the State Administration Council and Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae.

It was attended by members of Union Registration Board Deputy Ministers, permanent secretaries and departmental heads of the ministries and organizations, officials from Nay Pyi Taw council, Region/State governments, NGOs and INGOs. At the event, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said since Myanmar is a developing country, the strength of organizations is needed in undertaking the development of the rural, border and remote areas.

So, organizations need to make registration process to provide assistance in line with the law.  It is necessary to take the recommendation of the government organizations to do registration and he urged the relevant departments to carry out the process quickly in accordance with the policy, rules and regulations.

According to the evaluation report of Asia-Pacific Groups on Money laundering among the nations, volunteering organizations are regarded that they are weak in following the standards of Money Laundering. Therefore, NGOs/INGOs need to carry out the activities in line with the law.

Then, the Chairman of Union Registration Board and officials cordially greeted the attendees. Afterwards, Deputy Director General of the General Administration Department clarified the matters regarding the organizations’ registration, Deputy Director of Bureau of Special Investigation on the anti-money laundering/counter financing of terrorism relating volunteering organizations. Next, officials replied the queries raised by the attendees and Secretary of the Union Registration Board supplemented the discussion.
