Social Security Affairs: Care Well General Clinics and garment factories inspected

Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung together with Deputy Minister U Win Shein and officials looked into rendering health care services to insured workers at the Social Security-Care Well General Clinics in Zabuthiri and Dekkhina Thiri Townships of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Wednesday and met insured workers.

During the inspection, the Union Minister said that the insured workers who are receiving medical treatment can take outpatient services at the social security board clinics and the clinics which have signed contracts with the Social Security Board if they are ill.

The medical expenses that they cost at the public hospitals can be requested for the patients who feel chronic diseases and who need surgical operation. There are 26,000 insured workers in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and for the health care services of these workers, 3 township social security clinics, 4 clinics of the Department, 3 contract clinics and 2 Specialist OG OPD care clinics are opened and health care services are given to 316,303 insured workers from January to August 2023.

The Social Security Board is providing health care services to insured workers with 20 Fee For Service Payment Clinics, 26 Capitation Payment  clinics, 15 Specialist OG OPD care clinics and 12 antenatal care service clinics and over 546 million kyats of medical expense have been presented for 2,939 patients from January to August 2023.

The Union Minister and party then inspected Chindwin Tagun garment factory which is operating with CMP system in Dekkhina Thiri Township and met officials and WCC members.

At the meeting, the Union Minister called for workplace stability, boosting productivity, and better workplace relations, producing skilled workers, reducing labour disputes and worksite accident and viewed around peacefully working of the employees in the factory.
