Inspection tour: MoNREC Union Minister inspected greening works

The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi accompanied by the officials inspected the status of thriving 4/2022 special greening mass plantation of 5,000 trees and 3/2023 special greening natural forest filled plantation of 3000 trees grown this year in Kyaukbadaung Township of Mandalay Region in the morning on 12th September and gave necessary instruction.

At the Poppa Mountain National Park, the Union Minister heard the clarification on the work implementations in the national park and the water sample from the natural springs and gave instruction on the matters of the greening of Poppa Mountain National Park and surrounding areas, to give special focus on the conservation of dry region eco-system and biodiversity and the preservation of Poppa Mountain region watershed area for the sustainability of Kyet Mauk Taung Dam and the natural springs crucial for the drinking water supply to Poppa area and Kyaukbadaung Township.

Then, the Union Minister inspected Poppa Mountain National Park educating exhibition hall and displays, deer farm, herbal medicinal garden and the work implementation for the greening of Poppa Mountain and surrounding area.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected the thriving and preserving 370 acres of 2011 multi wood plantation jointly established by the Dry Zone Greening Department and KOICA, heard the reports of responsible officials and gave necessary instruction.

The Union Minister arrived at Shwe Pon Taung permanent nursery farm in Chauk Township of Magway Region and the responsible officials clarified the implementations for the greening of Shwe Pon Taung and the status of improvements.

Then, the Union Minister inspected sowing 90,000 larger seedlings of 32 wood species which are 2 feet and above for the tree planting ceremonies and the special plantations.

Afterward, the Union Minister inspected trees in 20 acres of 1/2023 Village firewood plantation in Nat Kan Oo public forest in Yaynanchaung Township and gave necessary instruction upon the clarifications.
