







Myanmar delegation led by Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe who were on the visit to the Russian Federation from 6th to 12th of September through the invitation of the Chairman of Central Election Commission of Russia arrived back Yangon in the evening on 12th of September.
They were welcomed back by Yangon Region Government, Advocate General U Htay Aung and the officials from Union Election Commission Office and Yangon Region Election Sub-Commission Office respectively.
During the visit, Myanmar delegation signed MOU at Russian Federation’s Central Election Commission Office in Moscow on 7th September in order to implement the cooperation for the election matters between the Election Commissions of the two countries.
On 8th September, Myanmar delegation visited the Information Center of Central Election Commission of Russian Federation and observed the work implementations and working processes. Similarly on 9th and 10th, they observed Moscow and its surrounds and studied the voting conditions in the regional election.
During the study tour, Myanmar delegation discussed to enhance the bilateral relation between the two countries, voting awareness programs and to effectively use the media, to hold the free and fair election with obtaining technical support and to exchange experiences among the experts through MOU.
They also studied implementation and work processes for holding the election and the historical places including the customs and cultural heritages and in turn, the implementation works of Union Election Commission were also cordially discussed.
The Russian Presidential Election will be held in March 2024 and Chairman of Union Election Commission U Thein Soe was invited by the Chairman of Russian Federation Election Commission to make a study tour to the election also.
