2024 population and housing census : Saging Region Government holds work coordination meeting

Saging Region Government held a work coordination meeting on 2024 population and housing census enumeration at the Regional Government Office on Monday.

At the meeting Chairman of Sagaing Region Population and Housing Census Supervisory Committee the Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw said that in carrying out census collecting processes, there are many tasks to be cooperated with relevant departments on the ground and the Region Census Supervisory Committee has formed the census committees step by step from wards to village-tracts to complete the tasks within the target time.

The Region Chief Minister stressed to make preparations how to solve the problems that can be faced in collecting census and measures will be carried out to collect census in two wards and 8 villages of Monwya township in October 2023. Members of the Committee are urged to carry out for the achievement of the whole process in census enumeration.

Later, the secretary of the Region Population and Census Supervisory Committee the Region Social Affairs Minister reported on preparations for collecting 2024 Population and Housing census and measures for collecting nationwide population and housing census from 1st to 15th October.

After that, members of the Region Supervisory Committee reported on measures to be cooperated by respective departments for 2024 Population and Housing Census enumeration. Officials then reported on plans to conduct collecting pilot census to 1,250 households at 10 set plots in 1 ward and 2 villages of Monywa.

Chairmen of Naga Self-Administered Zone, Kalay, Katha, Yay Oo, Shwebo, Homalin district administrative Bodies then reported on measures for 2024 population and housing census in the districts and townships. The region cabinet members and attendees gave recommendations on the process.
