Work Undertakings: Inspection at Sarpay Beikman, MDD, GNLM and MMPO

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited the Sarpay Beikman under the Printing and Publishing Enterprise in Yangon on Saturday.

He viewed sales of books at Sarpay Beikman book shop and toured around the public library. He also met with the staff at the meeting hall and heard the reports on work undertakings.

In his speech, the Union Minister highlighted the vital role of Sarpay Beikman in the history of Myanmar’s literature. He also instructed the staff to get alert on fake news and disinformation as well as to use social media effectively.

Next, he visited to the Media Development Department on Bo Aung Kyaw Street, inspected the setting of the office, the offices and newsroom of Media N Co. Ltd and enjoyed the production process of M Entertainment Channel.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the members of the editorial board at the press office of Global New Light of Myanmar and heard the reports.

He instructed all to publish the news content that can grab the interest of the readers, not to publish news that can undermine the friendship and sovereignty of neighboring countries and to scrutinize news articles as well as publish accurate news in a systematic manner. Then, he inspected the printing room and cordially met with staff.

Next, the Union Minister met with officials from the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization at Bahan Township.

At the meeting, he heard the reports on necessary activities for the 2023 Film Academy Award Presentation Ceremony, further cooperation between the Ministry and the artist and plans for promotion of film industry presented by the officials and attendees.
