Pattaya Floating Market devastated by fire

A fire broke out at the three hectare Pattaya Floating Market in Bang Lamung district on Thursday. A forensic team searched for clues to the source of a fire which destroyed a section of this floating market, causing damage initially estimated at about 50 million baht. The fire spread quickly due to most shops being constructed with wood and thatched roofs.

Over 20 fire trucks rushed to the scene and it took them about an hour to bring the fire under control and stop it spreading to other areas of the market. This Market is a well-known tourist attraction depicting arts, cultures and ways of life of people living along rivers throughout the country.
