Efforts for Rural Development: Meeting for the Fiscal Year of 2023-2024

The Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held a meeting for the Fiscal Year of 2023-2024 at the Ministry on 7th September.

During the meeting, Union Minister U Hla Moe said that about 70 percent of the country’s population lives in rural areas and rural area development plays a vital role for the development of the country.

He also said that the government is making efforts for narrowing the development gap between urban and rural areas, poverty reduction, and for the interest of the country. Besides, the government is also focusing on the development of MSME sector.  

As the Department of Rural Development, implementations are being carried out across the country for the development of rural areas by laying down 5 rural development strategic framework.

He urged all the officers and staff to participate in collective efforts for implementing the progress for the improvement of socio-economic life of the people and continuous development of rural areas.

Then, Director General of the Department clarified ongoing and future working processes during this fiscal year.

This meeting was concluded with presentation of certificates to regions/states departmental officers and staff who parcipated in distribution of drinking water in the MOCHA cyclone-effected areas.
