The world first largest 100 percent  lotus-fiber-woven robe was offered to Kyaikmaraw Su Taung Pyae Pagoda in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State. The grand donation ceremony of the lotus-fiber-woven robe to the pagoda was held on August 31.

On this auspicious day, a lotus-fiber-woven robe was also donated to the Kyaikmaraw Sayadawgyi.

Main Donor, Bella Tara said "For this lotus-fiber-woven robe, we ordered lotus from the Inle area. It is so difficult to get largest 100 percent  lotus-fiber-woven robe and it is not easy to buy such kind of size. We collected all lotus robes, mixed and dyed them again. That is the way of making this vast lotus-fiber-woven robe. We started this project on July 24 and completed on August 24. The purpose of donating lotus robes is no matter how messy human life is, all the difficulties encountered in daily life are to be solved just like water trickles off lotus leaves."

The cost of the 24 feet long and 24 feet wide lotus robe is 12 million. This Lotus robe is made of over 1 million lotus stems. Weaving robe with lotus flowers is common in Myanmar. The lotus robe is sacred.  This is the first largest 100 percent  lotus robe donation ceremony in the world.
