Tourism and Green Investment Program: Participated photos selected for Colour Photo Contest

Under the Tourism and Green Investment Program, the contested photos were selected by the Scrutinizing Board for the Colour Photo Contest in commemorating the World Tourism Day organized by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism. 

For the contest, more than 300 colour photos of 53 photographers were selected under the said program.

Myint Htwe ,Deputy Director General ,Directorate of Hotels and Tourism said " We intend the contest to attract visitors by exploring destinations, new tourism sites and Myanmar’s scenic beauty. We have invited the contestants through newspaper. 53 photographers contested with over 300 photos. In selecting the photos, we chose phase by phase."

 The senior photographers selected the participated colour photos step by step. 

Alinkar Kyawswa Panchi Soe Moe ,Two Academy Awards Winner said " For the photo contest of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, the photos highlighting the scenic beauty of Myanmar attracted by internationals are selected in priority. We give marks depending on the photography technique and subjects. This time contest, we have seen new scenes and we have selected the kind of photos luring the visitors from the international point of view."

Kyaw Min Htin ,Joint General Secretary ,Myanmar Tourism Federation said " In my point of view, the scenes of our country are very colourful and photogenic. I think this contest plays a key role to show several beautiful sceneries of the country. "

For the contest, 700,000 kyats will be awarded for the 1st prize, 500,000 kyats for the 2nd prize and 300,000 kyats for the 3rd prize. 15 consolation prizes will also be presented and altogether 18 prizes will be awarded. The winners of Photo Contest, Extempore Talks, Essay and Article Contests will be awarded at the World Tourism Day Commemorative Event to be held on 27th September.
