Biden will visit Florida on Saturday following storm Idalia

US President Joe Biden will travel to Florida on Saturday to visit "the areas most impacted" by Hurricane Idalia, Homeland Security Advisor announced. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters "The administration will stand with the impacted communities every step of the way" during a briefing.

A storm Idalia inundated coastal communities in the Sunshine State before continuing on its destructive path up the southeastern US coast. Residents of Florida on Thursday cleaned up after rain and flooding caused by Hurricane Idalia wreaked havoc before the storm weakened and headed out to sea.

Idalia roared into the State as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday, flooding homes, felling trees and downing power lines before barreling across neighboring Georgia as well as South and North Carolina.
