New Travel Destination: Mountain climbers increase in Phonkanrazi

When implementing the increase of job opportunities for the local residents along with the development of Nature-based Tourism in Myanmar, the Ice Capped Mountain Climbing in northern most part of the country is now attracting the foreign tourists as it is getting quite popular among the local residents.

While only Myanmar possesses Ice-capped Mountain ranges in ASEAN countries, there are many Nature-based tourism resources and foreign incomes could increase through the visits of local and foreign tourists in the upcoming travel season.  

As it could reach the Ice-capped edges of Phonkanrazi through the natural forest walks and the arrival of climbing visitors getting increase every year.

Three Putao Travel Agencies from Kachin State is providing services for the climbers.

From these agencies, 200-300 climbing visitors were received tour services in the previous travel season and also, the climbing visitors in that icy region who made took a tour with the help of local residents were amounted up to 500, it’s learnt.
